Looking for cheapest Domain Registeration site out there? The best I've found is $8.45 a year.

Please share.

Thank you.

The cheapest are bulk pricing and 6.59 is the cheapest I've seen for bulk (100 or more). If the $8.45 you found is for single reg than I would look no further.

Remember, you get what you pay for. The cheapest will not give you access to the zone files so you are stuck with their hosting.

I can point you to a place with a free domain registration if you host with the company. But I wouldn't do it in a million years.

I have all my domains registered through Verio - and I've never looked back.

depends on how many domains you have, but i use bulk register - not because they are cheap (and they are) but because they have given me the best and most reliable service. their front end is awesome for making changes or just looking at all of your domains and their properties.

txbakers,

Beginners question: What are zone files?

Thanks,
Shane

zone files translate the name of the domain to an IP address for the various protocols.

"A" records point to web and ftp servers.
"MX" records point to mail servers, etc.

With cheapie domain registrars, you can't get to these files to change your hosting situation.

Like everything else, going for the cheapest involves courting disaster.

Reasonably cheap - and as they've had a few years to tweak things, quite reliable - [freeparking.co.uk...] is a good service, includes great flexibility in the standard price, and can be a viable alternative to running your own DNS server.

No, I don't have shares.

I pay $8 through powerpipe and have had good service through them and I pay less than $20 a year for hosting elsewhere and have never had a problem with them either.
