I am trying to free up some space on my harddrive. I cannot seem to uninstall Frontpage. I went to the control panel to add/delete programs but it doesnt seem to let me delete it. Is there a specific command or procedure. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

If the basic uninstall doesn't work then I'd say there's some wires crossed somewhere in your system - not an uncommon occurance in winders. I have odd stuff like that happen several times. One thing that I found helps sometimes is if you still have the disk try and reinstall the program then unistall it after that. Often a reinstall will fix up a screwy registry entry or something that is blocking the uninstall. If all else fails just delete the FP directory manually and go find the FP reg keys and nuke those as well. (back up your registry first :))

Hi Oilman,

I got Frontpage to uninstall, but it shows no extra space on my hardrive when I run the Norton Cleansweep. What else has to be done to free up the space that Frontpage was occupying. Thanks.

Find the FP directory and wipe the files.

Also, I'd do a file system check and then do a defrag. That will clean up any lost/upset clusters.

yup - scandisk and defrag etc. Windows is horrible at actually freeing up the space and it often leaves empty file folders behind after an uninstall.

Not to mention those 'convenient' reinstall files - just in case you want to repeat your mistake. ;)
