Any software around?

I love and hate the PFI (overture/adwords etc) system, but one cannot argue that it is not an ingenious system. Rather like an auction competitors keep pushing the price up.

What I am wanting to do is add a similar system for my own site, so that my advertisers can compete with each other in a similar fashion.

Is there any software out there to buy or free that can be used for this?

From your examples I take it you are talking about PPC not PFI. So for that some scripts are available, mostly commercial.
If you look at the usual suspects, like hotscripts, you'll easily find them.
Two of the most used apparently would be SmartSearch and Done-Right.

thanks heini, I really just want the system so advertisers can keep bidding each other up, but it won't be connected to a search engine, just for the site. Will take a look at those you mentioned.

the team at gossamer threads have been working on a goto mod for some time that will allow for cpc bidding within links 2 and links sql. If you visit the resourse area of the GT site ther is also a member working on something similar.

I have been using SmartSearch for a while now - to do nearly the same thing you are looking for. Except, that instead of advertisers I am using my own series of travel sites - and targeting keywords for each of them.

Works well, easy to set up, inexpensive, and you can backfill with results from searchfeed (and share the PPC) and/or a few others (MSN, RevenuePilot, Raging.com...).
