I found an amazing article about interactivity and websites. It presents a theoretical framework, detailing the definition of interactivy and ways of applying this to a website.

If you want to read it, you can download the PDF here:

I've never paid too much attention to interactivity, but belive that the time has come when this is essential.

I'm just wondering how other people are using "interactivity" in a commercial way and what kinds of benefit this has.

Whenever I hear someone talking about an interactive website I always fear the worst and think of a Flash site! However, I do think that interactivity is very important - not as importand as content - but up in the top 3 or 4 most important things on a site.

In my opinion even small things like user polls, quizzes, small things like allowing users to control certain elements of the view (eg colours, sizes etc.) is very important. I am a firm believer that an interactive site is vital for stickyness and promoting repeat users.

It certainly is an interesting article with much food for thought.
