I am learning how to write meta tags and which are the important information pieces in META TAgs to include in the pages for the SEO Purpose...

Any suggestions will help...

Well, you can sit around and wait for a variety of answers that have already been posted at least once, somewhere. :)

Or, you can do a Site Search [searchengineworld.com] using "Meta Tags".

where you'll get these from the top of the results page.

You can turn off the highlighting once you're inside each thread.

I should point out that there are around 20+ pages with which to peruse at your leisure. :)

Meta tags are much less important than they used to be, you might want to read an article about the Death Of A Meta Tag [searchenginewatch.com].

As you must have noticed since you have been here for a few weeks, content and links are probably the two most important factors that affect ranking.

Whilst Meta Tags are no longer a must have in terms of promotion, I would make it a standard practise of including them in all sites -- there's just no telling when the SE's will switch directions incrase the % of importance placed upon them and have everyone on the hop, even if it is only for a few months.
