Hi, I'm hoping to place a login area within a site so that visitors who want to take advantage of the free,up-to-date news in their particular business area will have to login first. This content has been previously available without a login facility but I'm hoping that once I implement it I can then tailor the site to each visitor. What I'd like to know is if anyone out there has any useful links or studies that I can look at to gain more info on login usability issues as my boss is saying that it'll just annoy people and drive them away. My feeling is that this is untrue but I need to back it up with some data. I'm thinking that there should be some sort of info in the login area about the benefits of logging in and a clear link to our privacy policy which would hopefully help smooth the transition.
