Hello all

This might be the best forum to ask this......I used topcities and was horrified at how they stuck that horrible ad up there on my client's new website prototype. I once used geocities for this and didn't mind the popup ads as much as the way they've done it at topcities.

Does anyone know where I can find free webspace with ftp access and a decent compromise for the ad banners they want there?

What about your Internet access provider.

Here in Nova Scotia Canada there is Eastlink, Sympatico, Mpower, AccessCable, and PSINet (for Internet access) and all provide personal homepage space.

I use an award winning ISP but I am starting to wonder what the criteria was exactly as I am denied ftp access to my free web space with the account. I find this very unfair and when my account runs out I'll be going somewhere that looks after MOI!

Hello iinet. Listening?

Personally speaking - if this is some form of business model - products or services the costs are cheap - here (eastlink) $6.00 per month.

Just use 9cy.com and forget the rest if you can live with one pop-under ad.

nobody gonna chase you to give you free hosting with all the trimmings - they don't earn out of it. your isp doesn't care if you walk - you're one in several hundred thousand.

free hosting is fine for people wanting their first personal homepage, but better to get the real thing for business. it starts at £20/$30 per year everything included, which is peanuts. if it's for a client, they'll pay for it, so it doesn't cost you a penny.

I get 10mb and 1gb transfer for $5.95 A YEAR. That's practically free! I'll sticky you the link.
