I am on DSL so I never really pay much attention to page size when surfing the net. But recently I moved and had to use dial up for a few weeks and basically got to the point I stopped surfing until I got my dsl back because it just took SOOOOOO long for most pages to load. So now that I have been re-introduced to the world of dial up I need to get a feel for any new pages I create and how fast they load on dial up. So my question is - Is there a program or a website I can use to test page load times of pages on the web using mock up connection speeds?

A program is available from www.xat.com

I use an older version that I like a lot.

I use "Web Speed Simulator" from xat.com
You can set your download speed to a crawl if you want which is very useful for watching load order. You can also turn "Caching" on and off.

A cracking little utility.

>pages you create

Just view the dir in your OS, hopefully all if not most OS's will display the filesize.

For 56k, divide the filesize / 4 and you should have agood idea of how long it takes to load ;)

this won't include all pics on the page......still, it's not hard to have a peak at their filesizes too ;)
