zone alarm uninstall - cant get net

after uninstalling zone alarm , i cant connect to the internet anymore. i'm on a LAN, anyone care to help, i've deleted everything connected to zonealarm even from the registry but still cant get up - help pls.

I have uninstalled zone alarm a few times and never had a problem. Have you checked all of your connection settings to make sure nothing got changed?

I have uninstalled with both xp and 98, maybe a call to your isp might help?

Hmmm - I've never heard of that one. You've probably figured it out, but you should give ZA a email and see what they say.

Did you install it or did the net Admin? You may not have had rights to uninstall it (or perhaps not uninstall all of it).

Impossible if he can't even get on the net, unless he saves the setup to a disk, but even that may require the internet (not sure.)

Go into your network settings and make sure you Name Servers are still there. Often the internet settings will get confused and go blank if you dont have name servers specified or a different type of network connection/authentication is selected other than the origional setup it can stop you from accessing anything. Try accessing a site by IP address see if it comes up then if it does check the Name servers :D I blame it on internet configs before i do on the program.

Not sure why it would be impossible or even difficult. Unless he deleted the original Zone Alarm set up file, it would be a simple matter.

I'm not saying it will work:), but it is hardly impossible.

I tried all those & checked the settings but to no avail. IT staff here can't help me either. Didn't email them as it was a free version. So i decided to reformat & reinstall, wanted a squeaky clean OS anyway. Thanks for all the help. :)

it's so easy to get a fresh system with windows anyway. just reinstall. this helps most often.

i had the same problem i got error 65 when i tried to ping and i fixed . it ... im trying to remember how but ummm
