When sending an email for a link exchange with a site, what subject header would you use?

Sounds a silly question but with the emails I get, I delete them all untill I recognise an email address. The amount of rubbish I get via email, I wouldnt have enough time in the day to read it all.

So do you think that a simple Link Exchange Request works or do you use anything else?

That’s what I use, I'm the same as you and delete most email junk unless it’s something jumps out like the word Linking, or I’ve got 30,0000 I need to transfer to your bank account

I usually head emails with my domain.

As the domain name is obviously related to the industry of the sites that I contact, I assume that it will be read.

I get a reasonable response to my requests.

No figures to share though - I kinda just ask for links from sites as I come across them.

On one site I have (directory) as strange as it may seem, people use my "Add your URL" email link to request link exchanges....therefore most of the request i get are headed with the subject line i have dictated in my mailto: link.

I also tend to up sell link exchanges / content submissions for my other sites after I add the listing. That way the webmaster happily goes off with two inbound links and a I get one each for my sites.

A directory site that includes the subject areas of your other sites is a fantastic inbound link generating tool in our link search frenzy day and age! :)

You find all manner of new sites willing to link to you and who are undertaking intensive prelaunch marketing campaigns.

Yes, the traffic and PR is minimal or non existant for the beginning, but over time it builds up.

JOAT :)
