Expired and Cached Web Sites

I don't know where else to place this really, so here it goes.

Yesterday, someone asked me by e-mail to make a copy of their Web site that expires today. I went to the site and it's already gone. I went to Google to look at the cache and it's pretty empty already.

Does anyone else have any suggestions for how I could pick up a cache of the site for future reference? The original site was designed all in images and the one page that is in the Google cache is pretty much empty image boxes.

Uncertain if there's something else I could be trying...

Thanks.

Welcome to WebmasterWorld prplspud.

Check out The Wayback Machine [web.archive.org]. It might be of some help to you.

Thanks for this. It doesn't solve my problem a 100%, but it's a help!

prplspud,

You may be able to pull images and other non-html objects (which are not cached by Google or Wayback) out of the Temporary Internet Files folder of any machine which has been used to access the site recently, and which has settings such that the temp files are not deleted too soon.

Where was the site created? That machine should have a full image of the site on it.
