anyone have suggestions or thoughts on the best software to edit videos. want to be able to hook up my vcr/dvd and convert some to mpeg, avi etc. any suggestions?

PC world (or pc mag) just did some reviews. They adored Pinnacle 8. Only costs $99.

I have Pinnacle 7, it is very simple to use while remaining quite powerful, so Pinnacle 8 would probably even better.
