My e-mail and website performance has been dodgy for a while - about 90% acceptable coverage. Over the weekend, e-mail was down for about 12 hours. Monday, I rang the ISP (No out of hours support) and all phone lines are down. Additionally, I've noticed that my web domain name expired 5 August and they haven't renewed as instructed.
I've now bought webspace with a new company and have uploaded the site.
I've e-mailed the bankrupt? ISP asking them to change the name tag to the new company so I can change provider- I've also sent a letter for same recorded delivery which was signed for today. All e-mails have been delivered OK according to receipts received.
I've contacted Nominet (UK registrar) informing them of the situation. They said they'd get back to me within 9 working days!
What can I do now? The website works sporadically, e-mail works about 1 hour in 4. I have other websites but my Actinic shopping catalogue and all stationery are linked to the main site. Do I wait for the 2 weeks that Nominet have promised or can I do something more quickly? My business and all search engine optimisation is disappearing before my eyes!
They seem to be busier than usual at the moment and the current turnaround for issues is reckoned to be around ten days, although my recent retags have been done in four days.
At the least you should receive a response to your e-mails within 24 hours - could always give them a quick call to ensure receipt of your letter has been received and will be actioned.
