Strange 404 errors

URLs with "soubory" and "archivos" tacked on.

For a while now I've been getting 404 errors showing up in my logs for strange, almost correct, URLs that have "soubory" or "archivos" inserted into them. For example, a correct URL would be /html/home/news.php, but I get /html/home/index_soubory/news.htm. Similar things happen with the word "archivos" inserted. Has anyone ever seen this in their logs before?

I asked my network administrator about this yesterday because I started noticing similar URLs in my logs. He told me they're hack attempts against the web server and SQL Server by using similar URLs so that your attention is not immediately drawn to them but different enough to cause errors that MIGHT result in security breaches that could then be exploited. Both servers are well patched and I've been told not to worry about it too much.
