How effective would be a "Bookmark this site" option?

Hi
I was thinking to add a "bookmark this site" option to my pages.
What do you think, is this going to get more returnees? After all, IE has the option of adding a page to your favorites. Plus, as it's been said in other threads, Google don't like Java a lot.

So, I was wondering whether this is a good idea or not.
Thanks,Dan

I know I have never bookmarked a site by clicking the "bookmark this site" button, but i suppose it wouldn't hurt.

People will bookmark your site if you have good content or they think your site will be a good resource. If you are concerned about the javascript, place it in an external js file and reference it that way. It makes the page much cleaner for spiders and helps the download time.

Here's how: [webmasterworld.com...]

Instead of a bookmark button, consider making a separate "Why bookmark this site now?" page. I then use that page to inform the visitor about the ins and outs of "paid for" SERPs, including a calculation showing that the site they were currently on would cost something like $58,000/yr on the pfi model --and that would be just one SE.
