Could you maybe put that into context? At any rate I'll guarantee you that the vast majority of people do not have a Polaris account, and do not need one. Whether you need one depends on what it is. :)

After looking around a little on Google, and noticing in where profile where you are from, I think I can answer the question now... A Polaris account is an account on a particular computer system at the University of Maryland. So you may need one to access certain services at the university.
