Hi everyone,

Just wondering, as I've seen various websites offering certifications for webmasters, blah blah. I was wondering if there are any internationally recognized, or truly official organizations or certifications that a web designer or webmaster can achieve? Like and MCSE or something, but for web development?

the simply answer is there is not anything on paper that means anything in the world of webmastering.
If individuals have picked up quals, such as degrees, MS, Unix, or Cisco network / admin / database certs, they are deemed as helpful, but its a specialisation of one area of a webmasters duty.

Word of mouth, projects completed, visible work, is probably the best asset that one can have in the world of webmaster qualifications.

p.s. i'm starting a Cisco CCNA qual in September, to reinforce my knowledge of networks. though what this has to do with webmastering is anyones guess, lol

:) That's what I figured. I stumbled upon something called WOW certification, I'm wondering if it's worth pursuing...Just curious. Re-vamping my CV and thinking it would be nice to add some certifications, if there are any.

never heard of WOW, their was also another cert floating around which was recently discussed, but it generally got rubbished, as the only real qual, especially if you are walking into a job is a/many good looking, well position web site(s), with the rationale explainable by yourselve, to blow an interviewer out of their seat.
