I recently added a new directory to a site I built about a year ago. The new sub-web is an exact text only copy of the main website with better contrast and larger text size. There is one link on the home page "visually impaired" and one on the access homepage saying "standard version" The original site does well for it's targeted keywords and has a PR5 so I don’t want to take any risks. Should I exclude all bots from the new directory using robots.txt???

The main reasons for this is...
. I want users to arrive on the pages of the standard website.
. I don’t want a penalty for duplicate content.

Anyone have any better ideas?

First, I salute the idea of the larger fonts for the vision impaired and those with higher screen resolutions.

You have the right idea on the robots.txt bot exclusion. If you have ssi or cloaking available, I might even go further and not put the link to the directory on the page when the bots visit.
