Hi,
I am currently getting a good amount of traffic. But, my major source of traffic is a little "dicy". It may or may not support me in the future.

I wanted to know if you could suggest any methods that can be used to get more traffic from the traffic that I currently get? Use the traffic that I currently get to attract more visitors in some ways?

I know two obvious solutions:

1. Newsletters
2. Great user experience...such that word of mouth marketing happens...

I am working on these already. Can you suggest any other more effective methods? Anyone?

Thanks

Hi guys,
Branding is something I want to do and I am working on small time branding. Big time branding is a little difficult. I dont have the resources.

However, I want some suggestions I can use so that the fans of my site actaully propogate it. What i am trying to say is i want re-porducing traffic. Traffic that creates more traffic. Any ideas?

If your traffic is a qualified and targeted one, make sure your content is valuable to your visitors. That is all!

There is nothing else you can do to get more traffic out of the traffic you already have. There is no magic formula. Take the chance and improve your content step by step on a regular basis. Make your visitors return again!

If your traffic is coming from traffic exchanges or some other "go-click-here-to-earn-a-credit-point" type of services, you simply waste your time and money.

Whatever the quality of your traffic is, if you do not update your site with a quality content, you will lose all the traffic very soon.

I meant brand the website name to visitors. Put the name in lights. Make sure the presentation emphasizes the meaning and spelling and pronunciation of the site name, and also whether it's a dot-org or a dot-com or what.

All this will make it easier for people to find your site again if it drops down in the search results.

You can remind people to bookmark your site, but few people will really do that and I don't see most people using bookmarks these days anyways.

As for marketing gimmicks, there are tons of articles and books on viral marketing. But it works much better if you have worked that strategy out before launching, making it integral to whatever the website does.

I would have to say what the others are saying, just have good quality content that people come back for. They will start telling friends.

Create some incentive for your visitors to invite new visitors.

like: improved site experience, cash, points, recognition, prizes, etc.
