I have an excel file from an old employee that I want to open. When I open the file it is blank (excel gray background). The file size is 78.5k. Any help would be much appreciated.

You have probably already checked this - but are there any other tabs (worksheets) in the document?

No, don't even get to that point. The file opens and then there is a gray background, no worksheets or workbooks at all

Make sure that under "window" in the toolbar that the worksheet isn't hidden
