Hey all. I have been thinking about hosting a website for a long time now. So i did a "little" research and I finally decided to pursue it. My website Is HOPING to be a humor site (such as <snip> for example). But I have a few questions before I proceed. I am hosting the site with <snip> and I have 5GB of webspace. Hosting such a site will surely require lots of media files such as pictures, videos and flash objects so I need these questions answering

1.) Is such a website recommended to be hosted with a hosting company or should I own a server?

2.)What kind of experience would I need to own such a website? (for example: Databases)

3.)Which is the best book for learning Dreamweaver 8?

Now I have been trying to design my site so far with Dreamweaver but im NO expert this is relitively new to me. My website at the moment is <snip> and as you can see it's SO far from finished, I just want a few pointers or advice in what I am trying to accomplish, thanks.

Start by using a host; most hosts will have be able to be flexible with capacity, and you will be able to find out what you'll need.

You'll never 'need' to own a server; it's all about the most cost effective solution for your needs.

Look around at the various options; it does not have to be in your country.

You also need to buy the .com if you intend to go for an international audience - or to protect your investment.
