one of my users... we'll call him 'Bozo'... was given a spiffy new PDA. Bozo set about hooking his PDA up to his lappy... without mentioning to me what he was doing... and updated Outlook 2000 to Outlook 2002 "because the PDA wanted me to"
hmmm.. fine... nice... except now Bozo is unable to participate in the shared task and address folders that are fairly central to office functions.
So I'm now stuck with trying to change Outlook 2002 back to 2000. It appears to work, on the face of it it is 2000.. go to 'help' 'about' and it says Outlook 2000, but it still can't participate in the shares.. and the help menu actually brings up 2002 help information.
How do I remove/de-install Outlook properly so I can do a clean install of the programme? HELP!
Suggestions for appropriate punishments for Bozo will also be accepted. :)
I would suggest you export your account information, and write down all the connections by hand just to make sure, and then backup anything .iaf and .pst
Then uninstall/reinstall, and copy-back the outlook.pst file you backed up.
Then import your account connections. You will have to use the passwords you wrote down as these are not saved in the .iaf files, and you will have to set the pop connections for each account.
Hopefully that should work. I have done this many times when reinstalling a machine but never from 2002 to 2000 so no guarantees.
