I have a Install Messanger Beta icon on my windows desktop. I can't get rid of the icon because it says the icon is being used by another program. I have restarted my computer, remomed MSN messanger from my computer, and there is still no luck. Please help. THank you.

Try starting Windows in Safe Mode and uninstalling it there.

Even restarting your PC normally may be enough to make it removable. This generally means a windows process is using one of the applications files. Because part of the app is in use windows will not allow it to be removed. Sometimes a simper restart will be enough to make Windows let go and allow you to remove it.

You need to identify what process has opened the file in question.

Use the link below and download "Process Explorer".
[sysinternals.com...]

You will have to close the relevant process, that should permit the file to be closed.

Don't keep us in suspense, what program was keeping it open? Outlook? Outlook Express?
