Has anyone set up email for there website through tiscali.co.uk?

Can anyone tell me about port 25?

I've got a website. I've set up the details through outlook express. I've sent an email from my hotmail account and it's got there no problem.

I can't sent outgoing mail from [e-mail] through outlook. I've checked the host's help pages and it says to check that port 25 is open. It isn't. It then says to check with my ISP - tiscali.

So I phoned tiscali and got through to india. He's basically told me it's my host's problem.

What can I do now?!

The post25 "problem" is actually a non-issue for most users. You don't actually need to send the outgoing emails via your own host, you can just use your ISPs SMTP server even for emails marked as from your domain.

Just specify your email address as the one at your domain and the SMTP server as the ISP one.
