Good Idea to split up our site?

Our website has multiple types of categories. Each category has multiple products.

Now each line of products is a line for itself.

The question is by having all products under one domain, is it hurting each other.

Are we better off having seperate domains for each category, will this help us get better ranked for each product.

Is so what should be our concerns and how do we go about?
