Help with Norton anti virus

Hi guys, Hope someone can tell me what is happening.

I was getting allerts that my virus definitions wern't up to date. But when I update them it seems to work but the record says that they are still out of date.

I am running Norton AntiVirus 2003 and my subscription is current.

How are you updating them (LiveUpdate or manually installing the updated definitions)? How out of date are they?
