Hi all,
probably a simply question, but I am lost.
My System predicted a SMART failure on the primary master HD and I am in the process to save all my work and downloaded stuff on DVDs.
Now that I selected all files, Win XP pro doesn't want to copy to the DVD as it asumes a CD-ROM and it says the sidk is full (although it is a virgin DVD taken just out of the package).

Any ideas on how I can get my stuff on DVD instead of going to the gas station and buying a stack of CD-ROMs? (it is sunday and 9:0 pm)

thanks a lot in advance for any help provided.

Windows may not recognise the drive as a DVD recorder, however, if you install (and use) the software supplied with the drive (e.g. Roxio) it should work ok.

Try to remove the CD/DVD rom from hordware device manager and use Nero instead of Windows supplied DVD software

If you remove (or disable) the drive using the device manager, it's likely to be unusable.

Thanks guys.
Problem solved. Downloaded trial version of Nero and data is safe now.
