I first logged into my webmin site and saw a feature that I will only allow my ip address to access the log in page. The lack of knowl I have in the computer world caused me to block my own self. I have dynamic ip address from my isp only. Is there something I could do other than sending a support ticket to my vps provider. My isp want me to upgrade to a static ip but it will cost a bit.

you should be able to use a proxy server to hide your IP address, log back in and unblock yourself...

I've tried diffrent proxy numbers, but it still want allow access. Any other suggestions? I put a ticket in to my vps host, still no answer.

Then it is blocking by something other than just IP, a cookie maybe? Make a cookie2 subfolder, move cookies to there (so you can restore after) and try with proxy again...?

Proxies won't help. Presumably you locked the login to your current IP address at that time and it has since changed (as a result of resetting your cable modem, for instance).

A support ticket, etc. is the only solution.

A few weeks ago I blocked myself from my control panel. It took me a few days to figure out how to fix it.

It turned out there was a database that stored the block/allow information that you configure. I dropped all the rows in there and then it worked fine.

OK, I see now, you locked in one IP address as the only one that can access and your ISP (unlike the one I work for) issues you a new IP address each time you dial in or connect via PPOE.

Yeah, trouble ticket to hosting company is probably the way to go.

Thank you all for the help. I think the support ticket will be the way to go, since I have'nt created anything but a secure log in path. I wish the vps plan I have answers as fast as you guys though :)
