Hi ... sorry if this is out of bounds.
A client wants to know if I can upload the Regional MLS on a daily basis. Am I wrong in thinking this isn't such a hard thing to do? thanks...

Can you be more specific? A *lot* more specific? For starters, do you have access to the data you want to work with?

HI and Welcome to WebmasterWorld!
Not every one will know what this about
I had to do a search to figure it out

Anyway you should be able to perform it
by having the registered agent emailing them.

We are working to finalize Data Licensing Agreements with some of these organizations. Having an agreement in place ensures RMLS's ability to monitor usage and compliance with our Rules and Regulations. If you have been affected and would like to have your web company receive listing data from RMLS please have your vendor email Data Exports . We are receiving numerous calls from agents whose web companies have suggested they contact us directly. This adds a step in the process of resolving the issue.

Yes ... I wish I could be more specific - the real estate agency (the client) has a website that has been operating for some time. They are contacting me through a friend of mine, needing this service to be taken care of (uploading the regional mls). They have a web company listed at their website so I'm guessing that there is some problem there (?). I know that the RMLS is generated daily - but from where (?). I am a web designer more than a database guy and dabble in hosting - I'd like to take on the work but don't want to step into a massive amount of workload as I am busy as a musician as well. It seems simple enough - an hour a day? I don't even know enough to say ... there's no need to upload, I simply tap into it - true? Again, thanks for your comments.

Email them, they should have somewhere a demo, a manual and some examples of "how to"
Before taking the job verify that it is within your range of capability.
Also review the existing web script in order to get a feeling for it and verify that you may insert the "feed".
Sometimes it requires tweaking some existing script to insert a "feed".

Then when done you should not have anything to do on a daily basic.

Like I said, do you have access to the data you want to work with? Does your *client* even have access to that data? It sounds like you don't even know. If you don't know where the data is then no, you won't be able to do anything with it.

Your question is premature. Find out the source of the data you want to work with and you can go from there.

Thanks ... I'm a little better able to ask some intelligent questions of the client now. I'll let you know what happens. Cheers!
