Is the alexa toolbar worth getting?

I'm pretty new to all of this and just wondered whether this toolbar is worth it?

Does it show relatively the same thing as googles pagerank?

Whats the difference?

Is alexa accarant? Whats it based on?

The Alexa system reveals web site relative popularity among users of the Alexa toolbar. How useful this is, is a matter of considerable debate.

Alexa are part of the internet giant Amazon.

Google page rank is a wholly misleading and totally worthless statistic of how Google values a specied web page. Worthless, because what matters is visitors, and more specifically those visitors who buy the product or generate advertising revenue, and not what a search engine thinks of a web page!

You may wish to consider the Netcraft toolbar. Netcraft are well respected (within the technical arena).
