I'mnot quite sure if this is the right forum, but it didn't seem to fit anywhere else.

I've recently come across some websites who don't contain anything but one huge ad. This add contains blocks of 10 by 10 pixels, and you can buy one block for 100$ (1$ per pixel).

I was wondering if those site pay off? I can't really imagine anyone giving (quite a lot of) money for a small space on a website noone will likely type in the url manually (and since the page has no other content, it's unlikely to show up in search engines).

Also, if someone does happen to land on such site, your ad is somewhere between the other 9,999 ads, so chances of actually getting a hit seems rather small.

Anyone has any experience with these sites? (either hosting one yourself, or advertising on an existing)

All such sites popped up after huge success of milliondollarhomepage. That original website got heavy traffic and high PR as a result of publicity it got all over the world. All other sites are copycats and hardly get any traffic, so answer will be - don't waste money on them.
