According to media reports, more than 200,000 "objectionable" profiles have been removed from its site in the last few months for including hate speech or being too risqué as the site tries to quell guardian and teacher fears about the safety of the network for young users.

Beginning of the end for MySpace? If it starts to seem like it's gone too corporate and "safe" it's going to turn people off.

I don't really "get" the appeal of MySpace, but from the looks of it posting risque pictures and stories seems to be one of the driving forces behind its popularity.

Imagine the scale of the task, identifying and removing 200,000 profiles out of a population of something like 50,000,000 registered users.

The fact that it's risqué is one of the main reasons teens get into it. It's almost like a no-boundary area for teens which will undoubtedly cause even more problems in the future.

200,000 profiles is a lot, but I don't think the Myspace phenomenom will last much longer.

IMO, another year or two.

I have heard police are searching the suspect on myspace, its prove good resource for getting all records and identity of the suspects.
