AOL e:mail spam using my company name

Will AOL do anything?

My company name is being used to send spam using AOL addresses. Adresses such as companyname@aol.com, companynameinquiry@aol.com, etc.

I have never used AOL for e:mail and am wondering if I ask AOL to decline to register any address using my company name if they will comply with the request or if they even have any means of doing so?

Anyone else having this problem?

Have you checked the HEADERS of one of these messages?

Just because the message start with "From: <user>@aol.com" doesn't mean it's actually from AOL :-)

This spam is probably relayed through zombie PCs and essentially AOL has nothing to do with it. If this is the case, it's worthless contacting them.

Do you have a trademark on your company name? Now could be the time to think of trying to get one...
