Hi guys,

I have a few re-direct based questions for you, andy help would be great.

On one of my sites I run phpnuke :( recently I decided to change the urls in the categories section. It works fine, but it only just occured to me that I now have the exact same pages on two different urls.

e.g

www.mydomain.com/cat-11-online-widgets.html (New one)
www.mydomain.com/cat-11-widgets.html (old one)

Both the domains work, but I am concerned because the old one has the high pr and not the new one and also it could cause duplicate content problems.

I presume a re-direct would solve this, but what is the best way to do it? via the .htacesss?

yes via .htaccess using a 301 Permanent Redirect.

this would transfer not only the visitors but also the SE spiders / robots and any Google PR that you may have.
