Hi! I have been looking for a search engine position tool but I am not certain which one is reliable. Can anyone recommend a good one?

Also, is it advisable to use search engine position tools or can using one get you penalized by google? That is, does it have any effect on your SEO?

Your site can't get banned for using automated position checkers, but Google has banned people from accessing Google itself because of their overuse.

I use the free tool over at Digitalpoint.

Thank you for your quick response sem4u :)

By any chance, will google be able to track if you are checking your ranking in SERPs through digital point? Does it matter? or so long as your query is not more than 1000 words per day, it's ok?

Also, since digital point is using "Google API Key", it means it is an authorized tool right?

I'm just worried that if I use a search engine position tool G might penalize my site and I'll lose my site's rankings.
