Hi all,

Was wondering if someone might be able to help me out here, I am color blind and sometimes find matching colors to be well, impossible ;-)

My body text is 12pt Arial Black #000000
My anchor test is 12pt Arial Blue #5555ff

I can't seem to find a matching visited link color that fits well in with the current scheme, when using purple #663399 I can't seem to be able to tell whats been visited and not (perhaps this is my color blindness playing a part) can anyone either confirm this is a perfect matching color for anchors or suggested another to match with my current blue #55f....

TIA,

-George Simpson

Hi Alternative_Future,

i just checked your colours.

i am not sure why you want to use purple and especialy this saturated version?

with black/vibrant blue color scheme i would use blue shade of gray to mark visited links as visited links are less important than ones that yet need to be visited.

gray would give impression of fade (in terms of black) and focus attention to unvisited part of the site.

say, something like this one : 8888B1 or darker, say this one : 575770, depend of personal preference...

did this help?

Hello TravelGirl,

Many thanks I have tried both and like you said the darker one seems to be a better fit.
The reason I used purple, as the example was I found a site using these colors and thought purple would have been best suited. Your explanation of reason to use these colors is also appreciated.
Many thanks for taking the time out to reply...

ok - glad it works.
in terms of colour scheme, i always stay within the same pallete.

black and white are neutral colours, so they fit almost anywhere, but all other colours can be misfit easily if you don't stay within palette.

i am not shure i am clear enaough and unfortunately, i don't know how to publish image here, but if i know i would copy for you your pallet from Photoshop so you can see what i am talking about.
