Not sure where posting it?

I discovered that a new client has made a good move and one that I am not sure about

For ex: its DN is based on a W W well known car’s company name (this is 100% legal) and looks like:
brand-nameA-tech.com so far so good
But I found that he also owns brand-nameB-tech.com and brand-nameC.com

Here is the question
He has a redirect on each B and C to the main site A
so if any one tries any of those B or C then the user is redirected to A

Do you see any problem with that?

I do not have access yet (Monday) to his other sites
So I can only suppose
could be a 301
but need to verify
I am sure that it is not PHP Header based because everything he had up to now was only 1, 2, 3 FP made
and hosted on the cheap side.
I guess it has to be ISP generated via an .htaccess

not so worried about language used but am wondering what code

301 or 302?

is the domain just setup as a domainalias?

is there a single landing on it and then it redirects?
