Is my website safe from hackers?

I have recently switched web designers as the one I was with was "iffy." lets just keep it at that. I have changed my hosting/domain and backend passwords. I am hoping that is enough as I do not want to worry about my site.

The main question I have is I have a backend that was designed for me so i can edit my clients accounts and moderate. Is this a weak end that can easily be hacked into? it is a simple username and password. I have changed them obviously however I am not a web specialist I dont know if it is easy to get into or not?

As with any program, it all depends on how secure it is designed. The only way to tell, since it was designed especially for you, is to let someone who knows about the programming language and knows about security take a look at the code.

It is possible for anyone with the proper knowledge and persistance to obtain anything they want. Your password should be a mixture of letters and numbers. If it is case sensitive make the letters a mixture of upper and lower case also. The password should also be at least eight to sixteen characters long. Your password shouldn't be something easy to guess such as your name, address, pets name, etc. Also, talk to your tech. support for more information. They should know more about how secure your backend is and how to make it safer. Hope this helps you, and good luck with your site/s.

Serial numbers off of home appliances make nice passwords. And if you forget it, you know where to find it. :)
