If i dont have it, is it going to effect my PR.

google have also started the beta services about sitemaps,so how important is for a website.

can we just add all the links which are visible by spider into site map..

any suggestions will be highly appreciated.

I hope google somewhat consider sitemap in your site for ranking, but content is most important factor.

A 'standard' site map page should help ensure your pages are all spidered.
A 'google sitemap' is an XML file that you submit to Google with a list of all of your URLs ... this helps make sure that Googlebot really does know about all of your URLs. Yahoo! has a similar deal where you can submit a .txt file with a list of urls.
In any case I don't think they'll really affect your PR but will help ensure your pages get in the indexes.

It really depends on how your site is set up and what the size is. When a site reaches the point where is has tens of thousands of pages, a site map to specific pages becomes impossible (though a small one that leads to the main pages such as contact info and such can be). A Google sitemap can be useful as well, but generally only in instances where the site is not already well crawled.

The sitemap being in PHP doesn't matter. The only times PHP is an issue is when there are more than three variables or a session ID in the URL.
