I have a news section on one of my sites, and it's always been maintained by hand-coding new pages as needed. I've been thinking of converting it so this whole section can be managed as a blog. I took a look at Google's blogger.com, and while it's by far the easiest to get underway (could do it in about 10 minutes), it seems to be behind the curve with respect to the features that are available on many other blogging packages (which admittedly gain features by being more complex and requiring greater effort at start up).
Is there any special word on the street about why blogger.com seems to have languished a bit? I'm inclined to think that Google will develop it successfully, but it doesn't seem to have gotten very far.
