Good traffic, poor sales.

Hi all

I have a web site with a conversion rate of just over 0,01%. I feel that can be and needs to be at least 1%. It's a good site, in my opinion, and a great product at a very competitive price. Is there some way to get it reviewed? Am I allowed to post the URL here to get other forum members to have a look?

Thank you

Andre

Woops. The current conversion is 0.1%, not 0.01%!

is there a lot of competition selling the same things as you for around the same price?
Does thier service differ in any way to your that could look beneficial to the user even if it may not be?

Yes, it's a very competitive industry, but we offer a far superior product at a price that's at the bottom end of the range.

The only thing that I can come up with is that some of our competitors have an "upfront" fee and then the rest is paid upon completion. We don't have that. The customer pays the full price upfront but we then offer a full and unconditional money-back guarantee which none of our competitors does.

Maybe your customers have been 'trained' to accepting teh part payment options and view you as slightly dubious as you wont make teh same offer?

How many of your customers are repeat customers?

Thanks for the replies.

About 15% are repeat customers.

But back to my original question...

Am I allowed to post the URL so that other forum members can have a look? I suspect that it's something fairly obvious that I keep overlooking because I'm so used to the site layout by now. Something like the order button being too hard to find. If someone else could have a look and then let me have it, that'd be great.

Thanks

To answer your question, yes, I think you may be right. Then again, only about 30% (roughly) have that option to pay a part of the fee up front, so it's not like it is a standard thing in the industry.

Unfortunately not, Site Reviews and Self URLs are covered by the Terms of Service [webmasterworld.com]. Better to keep discussion in more general terms.

Thanks for clearing that up Woz. Any chance that you could recommend some place that I can get a site reviewed?

No worries,

try searching Google - [google.com...]

In the meantime, if you read through the fora here you should get anough information to figure out the problems you are facing.
