Making Banner Ads

How do I easily make HTML Banner Ads?

Hi there,
I know a little bit of HTML and want to create a banner for my website, something simply, not too flashy maybe with some text links. Can someone point me in the right direction of some sample code. I'm reasonably confident in editting in what I need, but have no idea where to start from scratch. Thanks a lot.

banner ads are generally images. if you want to be able to include multiple text links that point to different pages I recommend using a background image and placing text links in a table on top of the image.

Alternatively you could make the entire banner a sliced image and squeeze the whole thing together in a table with the different sections pointing to wherever you like.

Just so you get an alternative view:

Personally, I block most graphical adverts. They are removed from the page and/or not even downloaded. By and large, I don't bother to do the same with text-based adverts.

Without getting into the rights (and wrongs) of the publisher and the client, you should know that I'm not alone. You could take the view that it's no loss, since I'm hardly likely to buy anything through adverts I'm actively stripping out, but if you rely on advertising income it might be something you want to bear in mind.

Thanks asquithea, I want to make the banner advert so that I can get it displayed on other people's sites to promote my own.
