From March, any users in the EU, EEA and Switzerland will be allowed to disconnect their Facebook and Instagram accounts in order to comply with the Digital Markets Act (DMA) which comes into force in March 2024. This means that user data can't bee shared between accounts on FB or Instagram.

You'd think it would be logistically simpler to make the option available globally. Linking accounts must really be profitable.

Wanna bet that somewhere down the road we learn these "disconnects" do not actually work as advertised?
