The job eliminations arrive after Zuckerberg sought to reassure workers that he didn’t “anticipate more layoffs” after the company slashed 11,000 jobs — roughly 13 percent of its workforce — in November.

They describe it as restructuring but the result is that Managers will handle more responsibilities. A flattening of the layers of management means some will be pushed into lower levels which is expected to result in more 'voluntary' layoffs.

Last Sunday, a new subscription service was unveiled (currently only in New Zealand and Australia) to charge a monthly fee for obtaining verified accounts and to have access to customer support.

The Metaverse, is still losing money, which explains some of these changes.

He's clearly expecting less advertising revenue, but It's wishful thinking that he won't be firing 50% of the company employees by fall. All major companies will be.
