Facebook fired him in 2017 without giving an official reason to the public. Media ran with a political reason though he was fired immediately AFTER Oculus was found guilty of stealing intellectual property, and fined a half million dollars.
Either way, Facebook is lucky not to have given Mr Luckey a 2nd chance as this, today, would be a PR nightmare for the already struggling Metaverse. I'm not even sure people will find this type of news shocking anymore with all the other crazy stuff going on. It makes one wonder... is this the real world?
