Meta Forced Sale of Giphy on Hold

Back in May 2021 Facebook/Meta said it is acquiring GIF hosting platform GIPHY [webmasterworld.com], and since then it's been under scrutiny by regulators.

The case by the UK's regulator, the CMA, was reviewed by the judge and has sent it back for further review.

I doubt that owning GIPHY represents a significant problem ... there is certainly much worse, in the portfolio of Facebook ... I mean Meta...

The problem for regulators is that GIPHY is used by many other social media services, and being owned by FB/Meta is the problem.
