I am running a website visits campaign on FB. It says I got 1000 link clicks but google analytics shows only 190 people viewed the link.

Am I missing something here?

Have you tried to identify if those link clicks are all humans or could there be bots?

The difference between Google and Facebook is going to be huge. Some possibilities:

- many people run ad blockers and tracker blockers. Those can block Google or Facebook, or one or the other.
- Google can count repeat visits as one person and additional page views to the same page by same person may not show up.
- Google or FB may be filtered at the ISP level in some countries.
- Some browsers (Opera, Vivalidi, Brave, DDG, among others) default will block GA trackers.
- Google can filter out some known bots, where FB wont.

Here is a really good article that talks about all the differences indepth.

In their Privacy Checkup panels, Google allows people to opt out of GA counting. I saw that today and it was new to me. I can't supply a link because it was among options shown in my Account. You might see it if you use Google's Privacy/Security update though I can't say with certainty that the same options are offered worldwide.
