Meta Says it May Have to Close Services in EU Over Transatlantic Data Transfers

In last week's filing Meta warns it may have to shut down some of its services in E.U. if the transatlantic data restrictions and new proposals aren't worked through.

It doesn't look like the E.U. are going to react well to "threats" of service withdrawals.
Facebook said: “If a new transatlantic data transfer framework is not adopted and we are unable to continue to rely on SCCs (standard contractual clauses) or rely upon other alternative means of data transfers from Europe to the United States, we will likely be unable to offer a number of our most significant products and services, including Facebook and Instagram, in Europe.”

LOL, Facebook says that every year, and every time a law is about to be passed.

They expect Facebook addicts to panic and pressure politicians, who in all events don't mind people's opinion anyhow.

ps: considering how the stock exchange market reacted, when Facebook lost 1 million active users , I can't imagine the consequence of loosing the whole European Union... how many active users in EU? (Facebook+Instagram)
