Facebook has announced Business Suite which is aimed at SMBs wanting to manage their presence across Instagram, Facebook and Messenger, and it rolls out this month.

It's designed to help SMBs view updates, alerts, messages, comments and other activity across Facebook and Instagram requiring attention. It also allows users to share on Facebook and Instagram communities. There's also the insights tab to help users understand what's working.

If you're eligible, when logging in to Facebook it'll redirect you to the Business Suite.

This is the "two tie paradox"...and from a company I don't particularly trust...not that G Suite is much better in that regard, but it's already embedded into much of what we do.

Facebook and Instagram are both useless for SMB now. You get zero reach unless you pay to boost the post, and even when you do it amounts to very little other than some likes. FB encouraged everyone to open business pages and after we all accumulated thousands of followers blocked them from seeing our posts unless the post is boosted. Since then I have put zero effort into building a FB presence.

Sounds more like a reporting/analytics tool than an actual productivity program.

Whatever you think of FB or it's offering, it works for some and not for others. If it offers an opportunity for a SMB it should at least investigate. Experience shows what works and what doesn't.

This is a tool that will help SMBs, and they need all the help they can get, especially now.
It'll take some of the steam out of the independent social media management tools, which is a negative for them.
