I just noticed something which has appeared in a Facebook group "A Page Has Joined This Group"

I can't see any more information about this, or what page to which it's referring.

A Page Has Joined This Group
Multiple people may manage Pages and can see all group members and content.

I've searched and can only find other people asking about this, but no information anywhere.

Right next to the "like/follow/share" is a dropdown that allows you to "like as a page" then it allows you (if you have more than one page) to select what page you wish to follow with.. I have not tried it, I'm wondering if the "liked" page posts show up on your own pages feed...

Thanks. I haven't found that yet, but will keep looking.

Multiple people may manage Pages and can see all group members and content.

I suspect this may fall foul of various privacy laws, and, worse still, could be used by scammers.

Not good, imho.

I also noticed this for the first time within the past 24 hours.

How do I join a Facebook group as myself or my Page? [m.facebook.com]

To join a group:
1. Tap [search icon] and then tap the search bar.
2. Enter some keywords for the group you're looking for.
3. Tap the group name in the results and tap Join Group.

Depending on the group's settings, you may have to wait for a group admin to approve your request.

Secret groups won't appear in search results, and a current member will need to invite you.

When you join a group other people may be able to see that you're a member depending on the group's privacy option.

If you're joining a group as a Page, keep in mind:
* Group admins may not allow Pages to join their groups.

* Pages can only request to join groups and can't be invited to join groups.

* If you’ve already joined a group as a profile and want to join the group as Page, you can change who you’re interacting as.

* Only Page admins can request to join a group.

All of a sudden this seems to have become a trend.

On the groups I manage i've removed the ability of pages to join as I can't see any positive reason for it at this stage.

It`s probably some new kind of spamming, and it looks especially suspicious with all the stuff about data security going on with Facebook...
